We are a K–12 public charter school in Las Vegas, NV dedicated to one powerful idea: every student deserves to find their voice and use it to change the world around them.
Explore Knowledge Academy of Public Speaking was founded on the belief that communication is the most important skill a young person can develop. We are a K–12 public charter school in Las Vegas, NV where public speaking is not an elective — it is a daily cornerstone of every student's education.
Our mission is simple: Personalizing Education — Challenging Minds. We meet every learner where they are, whether that means a smaller class in elementary school with a dual-endorsed teacher, honors and dual enrollment courses in high school, or a student-led club in secondary. Every student is seen, supported, and pushed to grow.
Today, our middle school holds one of the highest school ratings in the state of Nevada — 90+ points out of 100, earning a 5-star designation. Our high school consistently earns 4 stars, and our elementary school is a steady 3-star school continuing to grow. We are proud of where we are and excited about where we are headed.
Everything we do at Explore Knowledge Academy of Public Speaking flows from a set of core beliefs about what students need to thrive — in school and in life.
Every student has something worth saying. We create daily opportunities for students to practice expressing their ideas clearly, persuasively, and confidently.
From mock trials to debates to theatrical speaking, we push students to analyze, question, and form well-reasoned opinions on the issues that matter to them.
We teach students to stand up — for themselves, for their peers, and for their community. Advocacy is a life skill, and we practice it every day.
Through Social Emotional Learning, intramural sports, clubs, and a welcoming campus culture, every student at EKA belongs to something bigger than themselves.
Our student-focused model means your child's education is shaped around their needs, interests, and abilities — not a one-size-fits-all formula.
In grades K–5, students are grouped by ability rather than age. Those who need additional support are placed in smaller classes led by dual-endorsed teachers (elementary and special education certified). This support is available to any student who needs it — no special education label required.
As students progress into middle and high school, public speaking expands to include formal debates, mock trial simulations, and theater arts. Secondary students also benefit from honors courses and dual enrollment opportunities to get a head start on college.
Every student at every grade level has both a public speaking class and a Social Emotional Learning class each day. These two pillars — voice and emotional intelligence — are what set our graduates apart.
Students attend school Tuesday through Friday, with longer instructional days that maximize learning time. School starts at 7:55 AM. Elementary dismisses at 3:10 PM and secondary at 3:40 PM. Mondays are used for school tours and staff development.
